IAHE Level 4 Diploma in Special Needs Education
IAHE Level 4 Diploma in Special Needs Education course provides educational support to children with learning difficulties such as ADHD, autism and dyslexia. It is a hugely rewarding career that requires a specific skill set. In the SEN Teaching course, you will learn all about SEN teaching practices, the UK curriculum, skills required, and career opportunities.
This course explores the role and responsibilities of a teacher in detail, familiarising you with teaching methodologies, classroom management strategies and much more. You will learn how to build positive working relationships with pupils and family, and engage students with interactive group and individual learning support activities.

• Principles and purposes of curricular adaptation
These qualifications are specifically intended for learners who are generally 18 years old or older.
Learners are expected to have at least one of the following qualifications:
• Possession of a Level 3 Diploma or a certificate of equal value that is directly applicable to the subject matter.
• Completion of GCE Advanced level in two subjects or an equivalent qualification is required.
• This programme is intended for mature learners who are over the age of 21 and have appropriate management experience. Before registering for the training, learners should confirm with the delivery centre whether their experience meets the requirements.
The course has a duration of 120 credits and spans over a period of 12 months, equivalent to 1 year. Additionally, you have the opportunity to expedite the course duration. To obtain additional information, please contact our admissions department.
All components of this qualification are assessed internally by the centre and externally certified by IAHE. The qualifications are assessed using criterion-referenced methods, which evaluate the attainment of all the required learning outcomes. In order to obtain a ‘pass’ grade for a unit, learners must present evidence that shows they have successfully achieved all the learning objectives and have met the requirements outlined by the assessment criteria. The Assessor is responsible for determining whether the learners have met the assessment criteria. The Assessor is required to present a clear and documented record of the process used to determine the learners’ overall achievement.
Successful completion of the IAHE Level 4 Diploma qualification provides learners the opportunity for a wide range of academic progressions including progression to relevant IAHE Level 5 Diplomas. Learners are also eligible to gain direct entry into Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme.

IAHE qualifications at RQF Level 4 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme.
All components of this qualification are assessed internally by the centre and externally certified by IAHE. The qualifications are assessed using criterion-referenced methods, which evaluate the attainment of all the required learning outcomes. In order to obtain a ‘pass’ grade for a unit, learners must present evidence that shows they have successfully achieved all the learning objectives and have met the requirements outlined by the assessment criteria. IAHE Level 7 PGC in Special Needs Education
The IAHE Level 7 PGC in Special Needs Education will enable you to develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of working with children with disabilities, within mainstream and special school settings. You will undertake placements in mainstream schools with additional resources units, as well as special schools. Learning takes place through a series of lectures, practical seminars and workshops, where interactive and discussion-based techniques will encourage you to engage, reflect and challenge. Sessions may include:

• Attending presentations by subject experts
• Working on tasks in groups
• Having individual tutorials

For entry onto the IAHE Level 7 PGC in Special Needs, learners must:
• Possess an honours degree in related subject or UK level 6 diploma or an equivalent overseas qualification;
• Be 21 years or older at the beginning of the course; or
• Be mature learners with relevant management experience (learners must check with the delivery centre regarding this experience prior to registering for the programme)
